Replaced cylinder in leap V1. Had to use pipe wrench and some PB Blaster to remove old cylinder, but really no problem. Replacement cylinder matched and fit perfectly. I was surprised not adjustment was needed on the set screw.

I ordered a replacement gas cylinder for my Leap Chair v1. I was very happy that it cost so little and I could replace it myself. It was easy to do and when things didn't work as planned (seat would not stay up after installing) I emailed them and they knew the solution and provided a link to a video to fix it. All done and I am a happy camper with my chair that had not been used in several years! Thank you!

My 2006 Steelcase chair cylinder quit working so the chair remained at the lowest level when you sat on it. I ordered a new cylinder and replaced the old one after watching a how-to video on-line. Now the chair lifts and lowers perfectly. Btw, I'm a 64 year old woman and not mechanically inclined so that proves how easy this is to do yourself. Also, the shipping was free and the part arrived early. Great doing business with chairpartsonline.

I don't usually write these but Chairpartsonline.com deserves the shout! I ordered 3 gas lift cylinders they didn't fit.-My fault. I explained what happened, and ordered I ordered the correct ones They arrived quickly, and I received the full refund quickly. Hope this helps you decide to go with CPO!

Fits and works as advertised

Had my doubts I could find the correct part for a 20 yr old chair but fits like a glove. A little hard to get the old cylinder out but nothing a pipe wrench, a hammer, and a little WD-40 couldn't overcome.

Although the replacement cylinder had a shorter body than the old one, it was a perfect replacement once installed. And thanks to Pete, who gave me an immediate answer when I asked about the difference in body size of the cylinders.

I would like to thank Pete from Chairpartsonline for the great customer service. After receiving the gas cylinder the activator was being depressed all the time causing the chair not to lock into place (goes all the way down when sitting and all the way up when off the chair). Pete talked me through what was going on and after a minor adjustment my chair is better than new. The replacement cylinder is probably 1 inch longer than the one that came with the chair which suits me better. Can't talk about the longevity of it yet but it looks like a sturdy quality part.

My Chair Works Again!

I bought a used Leap V2 about 9 months ago and it is a great chair. But when the gas cylinder start going out, I bought a replacement from ChairPartsOnline. After reading the Steelcase Manual on how to adjust the cylinder, my Leap V2 is working great again.

An exact fit for my Leap chair (made in 2001). I'm glad I went with this part instead of one of the "universal" ones, since the Leap cylinder is rather a unique shape. Removing the old cylinder was indeed a pain, but once I procured an 18" pipe wrench and with some WD-40, it came right out. Customer service was a big help with a last-minute problem (I needed to tweak an adjustment screw under the seat).
